NIH IRTA Postbac Announcement | Limon-Aceves

Hi everyone!

My name is Alexis Limon-Aceves and I am part of Hamilton’s class of 2026. I am an alum of Andrea’s lab. She is the first professor at Hamilton who gave me the opportunity to conduct research during the summer, so the lab really holds a special place in my heart. During my time with Andrea, we conducted a study exploring the potential benefits of inbreeding found within crows such as increased cooperation, better breeding opportunities and lower stress levels.

As a recent graduate from Hamilton, I recently got an offer as a two-year research postbac with the NIH, an honor which I am still amazed by! I will be conducting studies in telomere biology in Dr. Lazzerini-Denchi’s lab. If it weren’t for the Townsend lab pushing me to follow my dreams in research, I would’ve never applied for a position like this.

Wishing luck to you all in your future endeavors,

Alexis ’26
