Elizabeth Egey: Veterinary Medicine at PennVet

After graduating from Hamilton and doing Crow Behavioral Research with the Townsend Lab, I have started veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. The summer before starting vet school was spent living out my cowboy fantasies, working as a wrangler in Yellowstone National Park!

This first year of vet school was both challenging and fulfilling, and I will be spending my summer similarly to how I spent my senior year at Hamilton- working on a study that also pertains to animal behavior; horse behavior, that is! Outside of research, I will be interning with a large animal emergency veterinarian in Romania, gaining hands on skills that will help me apply what I have learned in the classroom to real life.
