Casey McAndrews: Medical School at UNECOM!

Hello all! After “graduating” from Hamilton in 2020 amidst the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent two years working as a medical scribe in different ophthalmology practices (even though I want to be a pediatrician) in both Rhode Island and upstate New York. I was also fostering a family of five adorable newborn puppies!

This July, I started medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and am enjoying it so far. My study breaks have been spent on the beach or exploring the food scene in Portland. We just finished our first block which happened to be immunology, where I got to learn all about the MHC again! Thank you to the Townsend lab and congratulations to my fellow lab mates for all of the awesome things that you have accomplished.
