This summer I&#8217;m headed up to Utqiagvik, Alaska (the northernmost settlement in the US!) to participate in a long-term research project with the USFWS. I will be doing point counts and monitoring nests of Arctic Shorebirds, including breeding Dunlins, Buff-Breasted Sandpipers, Baird&#8217;s Sandpipers and others. I will also be observing predator and prey species populations to assess the efficacy of Arctic Fox population control on nest success rate.<\/p>\n<p>Next semester I hope to keep prepping some specimens and building Hamilton&#8217;s bird collection!
