Erik Johansson – Summer 2019 Coyote Cognition Research

I graduated from Hamilton this spring after working with Andrea for my senior thesis, and  will be spending the summer in Utah at the Millville Predator Research Center. I’ll be assisting a PhD student with their research on associative learning and cognitive flexibility in coyotes for comparison with other canids. This research will be used to asses the efficacy of non-lethal predator control methods and will contribute to our knowledge of canid success in urban environments. After this summer I plan to continue participating in short-term field research projects and search for graduate programs for fall 2020 or 2021. Many thanks to Andrea for her inspiration over the past four years and her continued support!
