Gel Emulsions: Isabelle Mosbarger ’20

For my gel emulsion project, I wanted to incorporate fruits once again. Specifically, I wanted to draw on the ripeness of fruit in still lifes and how it corresponds to the objectification of the female body. I use studio images that I shot with my primary subject, Taomi Kenny, and used the gel transfer process to adhere the images to different fruits. I then allowed them to age, the diminishing ripeness of each fruit playing into the perception of the image.
