Bioethics 223 at Hamilton College provides a comprehensive overview of ethical questions and social impacts arising from the use of new biotechnologies. The capstone project for the course is a podcast. Working in pairs, students research a current controversial issue, investigating the topic’s biotechnological background, ethical questions raised, opposing viewpoints, and final conclusions. Topics include: Genetic Engineering & Screening, Medical Ethics, Reproductive Ethics, Human-Technology Interactions, and Genetic Privacy, Discrimination & Behavior.
